Work with us

Grower & Co-ordinator Required, Full Time.

18th May 2018

Sarah Green’s Organics is a family run farm at Tillingham, on the east Essex coast.  We have 50 acres of land registered organic with the Soil Association.  We grow a wide range of seasonal vegetables, which we harvest and sell all year round.  We also have a small breeding flock of organic sheep.

Our vegetables are sold through Sarah Green’s Organics Vegetable Box Scheme as well as supplying box schemes, restaurants and community food buying groups in London.  We attend Stoke Newington, London, Farmers’ Market fortnightly, the only certified organic market in the country, as well as Leigh on Sea Farmer’s Market, which is held monthly

We are looking for someone who is happy to work in a small team as well as on their own initiative.  The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the business from the field through to the final customer.

The responsibilities will include co-ordinating the daily packing for wholesale customers and packing the weekly Box Scheme.  The Co-Ordinator is also responsible for managing the 5 polytunnels growing tomatoes, aubergines, cucumbers and peppers in summer, and oriental leaves in winter and our potted herb enterprise.

The work is varied and ranges from working in the fields, packing in the barn and clerical work. It can be physically demanding but is rewarding and would suit a practical person who is happy to work outside with a keen interest in organic vegetable growing.  Experience in field scale vegetable production is not necessary.

A full driving license is essential.

Comfortable accommodation is available on the farm in a mobile home.
